What is Abuse?
Abuse may include:
- Physical Abuse
Any intentional physical harm or injury. - Emotional or Psychological Abuse
Verbal harm, humiliation, intimidation, or emotional manipulation. - Sexual Abuse or Exploitation
Any inappropriate sexual behavior, contact, or exploitation of a minor. - Neglect
Failure to provide basic care, supervision, medical care, or emotional support. - Cyber Abuse
Harassment, threats, or exploitation through digital platforms.
Warning Signs
Possible indicators of abuse may include:
- sudden behavioral changes
- withdrawal or fearfulness
- unexplained injuries
- anxiety or depression
- reluctance to participate
- signs of distress or trauma
These signs do not confirm abuse but should be taken seriously.
Reporting Concerns to the School
If a student, parent, or guardian has concerns about possible abuse or unsafe situations:
